Would you charge to come out and provide a quote?

Our initial consultation is complimentary. For an additional fee, we can provide design services for your project and select the materials to be used. This fee will be credited towards your job at contract acceptance.

What is the connection between Bathrooms By Hans and American Kitchen and Bath, Inc.?

Bathroom by Hans actually acquired American Kitchen and Bath, Inc. in 2004, in order to expand their business and obtain a beautiful showroom.

How long has American Kitchen and Bath, Inc. been in business?

We have been in business since 1985. Our founder and owner, Johans Wartenbergh has been a licensed building contractor doing home remodels since 1987.

Does American Kitchen and Bath, Inc., hold a California license as a General Contractor?

Yes, most definitely.  Besides a General Contractors licenses, AKB also has a C6 license for cabinetry, millwork, and finish carpentry, as well as a C61 specialty license for acrylics, solid surface products, fiberglass, cultured stone, plastics, PVC drainage systems, foundation liners and drainage systems.  You can see our license # 513838 by going to cslb.ca.gov, which is the website for the California State License Board.

Yes, most definitely. We have complete Liability Insurance to protect homeowners if there happens to be an accident on the job.

We provide a two-year warranty, which covers all labor and materials we supply for the job. Our commitment is to do the best possible job and we proudly stand behind all our work for however long you own your home.

How much cleaning up do you do before you leave each night?

We respect you and your home and will certainly clean up the entire job site before we leave every night.

Since I’m at work all day long I can’t oversee the job so who will be making sure everything is done correctly?

We will assign a Project Manager, or a Lead carpenter to oversee everything as the process moves along.  They will handle all scheduling as well as manage the work crew.  You can count on them to be your liaison.

Do you Design Kitchens and Bathrooms?

Yes, this is our specialty. We have been remodeling kitchens and bathrooms for thirty years and keep current on all the latest trends. There are so many possibilities for transforming these rooms in your home.

Are Permits going to be required?

Permit codes vary by city, but they are generally required for any framing, mechanical, plumbing or electrical changes.

Who will apply for the permits?

We will take care of applying and obtaining any needed permits.

When you provide the written estimate, would the cost of the permits be included?

No, permit costs vary from city to city and are billed as an additional cost.

Do you do all the plans for room additions?

Most homeowners are already working with a drafter, architect or designer on the plans for their room addition or remodel. We have an architect that we have worked with on many projects that we can refer you to.

Is there a showroom where we can see our options?

We have a small showroom that displays our cabinet lines and various countertop materials as well as some plumbing fixtures for kitchen and bathrooms.

Will I need to be very involved as the project moves along?

Not necessarily. You will need to be involved in the planning of course, but once you have chosen the materials, appliances, products and fixtures, you are finished for the most part. We may have questions for you as we go along as things come up regarding your preferences, but that’s about it.

How much will you charge for your design services?

We provide sufficient time to formulate the design and select the materials to be used for your average kitchen and bathroom remodel project.  Larger projects or projects with structural design may require additional time/fees.

If all I need are new cabinets or a kitchen countertop would it be possible just to buy them from you?

Absolutely!  We carry Crystal Cabinetry, Starmark, Quality, Merillat and Kraftmaid, which are all made in America.
